NEW TO ACUPUNCTURE?

MOST HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS

DOES IT HURT?

q· Clients describe my insertion as a pleasant thump.

Acupuncture needles are actually quite thin,

some as thin as a human hair. This needle is

not designed to damage or open a portal like

the hypodermic. It is designed, instead, to

move things out of the way. Consequently

an Acupuncture needle is often not even felt

    at insertion.

q· Occasionally a patient will feel a transient dull

ache or thickness. ...sort of like a fish tug

on a pole when it takes the bait. You may

feel the qi... that tug, or ache but not often

          the needles.

q· Patients feel qi in a variety of ways; tickles,

bubbles, itchy, warm, achy, thick or cool.

All are good…… qi is moving.

ARE THE NEEDLES STERILIZED?

! YES... only single use disposable needles are used.

Lori Berryhill L.Ac. Dip. OM is fully licensed and also

Clean Needle Technique Certified... added training

that assures the most care when it comes to needle

safety.

WHAT DOES A TREATMENT CONSIST OF?

q· In your first visit we do an extensive intake.

Count on about 2 hours for your first visit which

will include; a diagnosis, a treatment design,

a recommended treatment plan and a needle

treatment. Needles are retained about 20 min

per treatment. Other therapies might apply

and be included in a standard treatment.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU NEED TREATMENT?

q· I always suggest that clients try 3 treatments

one week apart to begin anycourse of therapy so

they and I can understand how they respond to

the medicine. The number of treatments you may

require is determined on a a body by body case

by case basis. How long you have endured the

current condition and your body’’s healing ability

influence this. So, more chronic situations may

require a longer course of therapy.More acute

issues may require only a few consecutive

treatments. Here too I see different responses

in each patient. I adjust according to your

improvements and I always try to work with

      both budget and time.

ARE THERE OTHER BENEFITS?

q· YES! Most enthusiastically there are. Most report

better sleeping, digestion and general energy that

can last for days and for some weeks after treatment.

Patients that continue to incorporate Acupuncture

into their health practices tend to get sick less often,

report better endurance to life and experience a

calmer state of being. I personally believe this

medicine to be cumulative as well as preventative.

Monthly Acupuncture for even the healthiest of

people is nothing short of smart spending and

rewarding self care that pays it forward.
